Heads-Up
Our hostal is still under construction. While the first floor with 2 rooms and 2 bathrooms plus the kitchen/dining area are already finished, the second floor is still in the works.
Work typically starts around 8:00 or 9:00 in the morning, and finishes usually early afternnon. Some days it may continue until 5:00 or even 6:00 pm.
The landscaping is still not started, so aside of the various plantain patches, pineapple bushes, a lemon tree, and various other bushes and plants, the "garden" still is very rough.
Worldview That Informs Our Mission and Vision
Currently there are several difficult and urgent global problems to be solved. Climate crisis, global migration, wars (again/still!), and more. These solutions can only be found and implemented on a global scale.For that we need to realize we're all just one people and not 300 independant and separate peoples, that we have only one planet available for us to exist on, that there's only one world in which we can exist.
We have only one planet, which we all share. We all need to choose to be part of the solution, even if others still choose to be part of the problem. Instead of pointing at "the others", we all need to look at ourselves and see how we can contribute to solving our problems.
In order for it to be possible, that people around the globe initiate the change needed for a brighter future, we need intercultural, international bridges of communication, cooperation, and mutual support, trust and understanding.
The people who travel on a tight budget and cannot hide from real life in 5-star resorts, travel "close to the ground".They are (have to be!) open minded and curious, and they readily connect with similar people from other parts of the world.
They can form the personal connections - from one person to another - which are the first ropes that bridge the abyss of cultural and political and geographical differences. Upon such ropes, the first suspension bridges can be built. And from there these bridges can be expanded and extended until there are regular, close cooperations and communications possible.
